Christians doing spiritual battle!
Jesus doing spiritual battles!
Who am I to be able to say such a strong and powerful statement? In World War 1 they called it “trench warfare”. Both opposing armies would dig trenches for miles and then fight over ground that might only consist of less than 300 feet. Thousands of soldiers lost their lives over just a few feet of the ground. I started fighting in the trenches in 1969 and throughout the 70s. I was a member of a Christian organization in the 60s and 70s called Christian World Liberation Front or CWLF. Our offices were in Berkeley, California the very heart of radical liberalism. When the radicals marched for whatever lost cause they were fighting that week we would then march the next day or the following week in support of Christ. When the Liberals waged war as they would refer to it, against the “MAN”. We long-haired hippie Christians would wage war against them as Christians. Trench Warfare! They marched, we marched, they had guest speakers at Sprawl plaza on the Berkeley campus, we had guest speakers at Sprawl plaza. They had Sit-Ins we had Sit-Ins (Our battle is against Flesh and Blood!) Now let’s jump forward and look at the past 10 years. The radical left, the Abortionist, the Gay and Lesbian, the LGBT, the Million man march, Black lives matter, Rock ‘n’ Roll groups that held concerts to support all these causes and of course guest speakers who wanted to spew out their anti-government, anti-Christian messages. Let’s talk about the Church of today or the right-wing Conservatives or Christians of the Republican Party. We have marched, we have had Rock ‘n’ Roll concerts, and of course Christian and Conservative Guest speakers. We confront evil when and where we see it, Fighting in the Trenches! (Our battle is against Flesh and blood!) The million-man march organized by Glenn Beck didn’t care what religion you were just come and let’s support each other. Muslims, Buddhist, Hindu, Catholics, Presbyterians, Atheists, Socialist, Communist and anyone that calls himself a believer in any God and very spiritual. I worked for a company for 25 years whose headquarters were in Tennessee. I learned early on in my employment that there was nothing civil about the Civil War.
The Northern States called it the Civil War.
The Southern States called it the War of Northern Aggression.
Great Britain / United Kingdom calls the war between the United States the War of Independence.
The United States calls the war the American Revolution.
Can you see how rebellion against God can be justified by either side?
Derek Prince states that the demonic powers and influence over America is rebellion. I also believe that. We had rebellion when the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth rock and try to incorporate communism and socialism at Plymouth Village. All throughout our history the very core factor about America as we have been in rebellion as a people. Much like the people of the Tower of Babel. Let’s look at our political parties. The Democrats have the moderates, the middle of the road and the far left. The Republicans have their RHINOs, their moderates, and the conservative party. Everyone is in total rebellion against not only their opposing parties but their own parties as well. Now the church has 40,000 Denominations in the US. Those 40,000 struggle to agree with the church just down the street or in the same town. Satan has a great trick he plays on Christians. He gets them to be offended. Once they are offended, they can justify being in rebellion against the church and the church leaders.
“ Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand”
(Our battle is against Flesh and Blood)
- 657, 973 US Soldiers Died in our Wars!
- 215, 938 soldiers died in the War Between the States – Brothers against Brothers!
Why? Because our country was founded on rebellion! After having a discussion with my son about this I feel I need to clarify this statement. This does not mean that God does not use man to have his glory shown to the world. Throughout the Bible, God uses certain men or women to demonstrate his power and his mercy. He used our Founding Fathers to write our Constitution and Bill of Rights. What I am saying is man’s heart is desperately wicked.
NIV Jeremiah 17:9
“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”
Now the churches, we allow 2,500 to 10,000 pastors to fall each year from their positions as leaders in their churches. Rebellion is in our country and in our churches. Our country is 242 years old, the Body of Christ is over 2,000 years old. Our country 242 years old and we still are in rebellion. What does that say about the churches? (Our battle is against Flesh and Blood)
“ For our struggle is NOT against Flesh and Blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil that is in the heavenly Realm!”
If the church is in rebellion who are we rebelling against? God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Since we have 242 years as a country and 2,000 years as a Body of Christ. Could you as a Christian possibly consider doing it another way? Perhaps god’s way?
FAITH, HUMILITY, PRAY!
Praying is mentioned 375 times in the Old and New Testament. Wait, it can’t be that simple?
II Chronicles 7:14
“if my people who are called by name, Will humble Themselves” and Pray.”
“since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and a Humble Yourself.”
Humble is mention 40 times in the Bible. Jesus humbled himself to God the Father by asking to have this cup taken from him, “yet not my will but your will”! Please read Daniel again, there is so much in that book that I could just put the whole book in this message. Gabriel was sent with a message to Daniel, Gabriel was also sent to Mary to tell her she was to give birth to the King of Kings, Jesus. Gabriel told Daniel “since the first day that he set his mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself” Gabriel left heaven with the message. We all know the story of Gabriel fighting demons and possibly even Saint himself until Michael came to push Gabriel through to Daniel with the message. There that horrible word again that we as Christians hate and rebel against. I am a Governor, a Doctor, a Lawyer, a Bank President, the head of a Christian Organization, a Priest, a Bishop, a Pastor. When do I have time to be humble? I am a leader, the world expects me to lead!
“humble yourself before the Lord and he will lift you up.“
For those of you who are Christian leaders who have no time for humility and are leaders in your religious circle may I ask you 2 questions:
- When was the last time you were able to interpret the dream without being told what the dream was?
- How often does Gabriel visit you?
I could go on and on about Humbling yourself before the Lord and praying. Ask your brothers before you: Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, Daniel, Hosea and so on and on – men that were sinners like all of us. God used some that were joyfully singing to the Lord, and others who cried and wept to the Lord. But in all their situations they could not save themselves, God was triumphant. So, throughout the Bible God showed his servants who were prepared to humble themselves, seek his wisdom through prayer and not move or make any decisions until they heard from the Lord.
“do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer”
“if God is for us, who can be against us!“
Jesus is my copilot and he needs my help. So, the next time you feel like you have to do battle against the forces of evil, does Jesus need your help to win this battle? Why would Jesus interfere in a spiritual battle when you want to take all the glory? I believe that Satan has deceived the church into using the same tactics that the World and Unbelievers have been using for years. Or, would you rather let your request be known to Jesus, humble yourself, pray and see the Mighty Hand of GOD at Work?
